A post in Hussein’s Blog made me think of user needs and website access and led me to the good old Maslow-pyramide (see Wikipedia for background info).

Hussein was thinking about great IT stuff, suddenly getting asked, “Do you want some cheese?”, by the McDonalds guy: That took him back to level 1 in the pyramide - food!
If, and only if our basic needs are covered, we have time for the web. Besides supporting sex (social networks are used for mate finding and - of course - porn) the web does not much for us on this level.
Besides one important fact: The web saves time in almost every part of our lives! So we spend less time covering our lower levels and are ready to climb up the pyramide.
Most of the current web2.0 social networks work very well on level 3: They support your friendships, help you find new friends, and they allow you to show what you do and can and get respect from others (level 4 - which is also the domain of weblogs).
Web3.0 will take us further - mostly covering levels 4 and 5. Of course with spin offs down the levels too.
Letscreateastorm.org really focuses on these two levels right now. That somewhat limits our user base, but we can’t deliver solutions for other needs in the moment. What we deliver though is a platform, that lets your creativity and spontaneity flow!
